If the shop is registered you can complete a form to reclaim the VAT . Any place that sells watches in Thailand should do the trick. just walk up beach road or behind central festival mall and you'll see the watch sellers. The real question is where can the OP find a nice thick pair of socks to stick in his undies as he negotiates his way through soi 6 since “fake” is his thing..
